Don't even bother comparing it to any other film. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is clearly in a league of its own. Bachchan was director Karan Johar's first choice for the principled and strict Yashovardhan Raichand.
It was during the making of this film that Bachchan turned grandfather, the second time round, as daughter Shweta gave birth to a son. The delighted grandfather distributed boxes of laddoos and mithai to the unit to celebrate the event.
